Rod Coyne chose a bright and sunny day for his painting demonstration on Easter Saturday. His visitors watched him create a painting of the old Methodist Church in the Vale of Avoca. He talked his attentive audience through the process and technique of his painting.
All are welcome on Saturday the 23rd of April 2011 at 1pm when Rod Coyne will provide a free painting demonstration at the Avoca Studio Gallery.
This will also be an opportunity to enroll in Rod’s 6-week Summer Painting and Drawing Course to run May/June 2011 or to book 1-day Outdoor Painting Workshops and 5-day painting vacations in Co. Wicklow.

Edward Monet was the starting point for this week’s class. The exercise was to study the French master’s style through working from an impressionist landscape painting. Students painted their own versions after watching Rod demonstrate first. While the rain fell out doors it was all sunshine in the studio. The results were both exciting and enlightening with regard to that infamous painting genre. Rod: “it’s been super mornings work”.
